Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love is everlasting. Psalm 107:1
Dear Saint Robert Community,
Welcome back from Easter break. I hope that you had a wonderful, restful, time with your families and are ready for the last 26 school days of this school year. As you know, this time will fly by. We have many things to accomplish before that last day of school. Teachers and students will be working hard to make every minute count.
The “Fun Run” is a week from Friday. Thank you to all who have sent in your pledge forms and contributions. The students love this fundraiser because everyone can be involved. Thank you for your generosity. Keep sending in those pledges!
If you are a person who likes to calendar ahead, please take a look at the school website calendar. Over our break, I completed as many dates as we have defined at this point. Hopefully, it will help you when planning vacations etc. around school days. We only have 180 school days with the children and every day counts.
Our second graders will celebrate the sacrament of First Holy Communion this Saturday, a wonderful day for them, as well as their families. Jesus said in John 6:35, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” What a gift to us!
God Bless You and Your Families,
P.S. Please see below for opportunities to get involved in the Athletic Program or in the Children’s Liturgy of the Word. We need you!
Fun Run -Mark your calendars May 5, the 2017 Fun Run is coming soon!. This is our last big fundraiser of the school year, so please help us make it a good one. Pledge forms were sent home before break and a link is available in attachments. We have prizes for early pledge returns and some great “Grand” prizes. (see prize sheet in attachments). We also have a new prize for the top earner in each class. So get those pledges going ! We are looking forward to another fun event for our kids and some great fundraising for our school. Also new this year for 7th and 8th grade is the ability to participate in our first ever color run.
Sports Board Openings–Do you love basketball and helping young people learn the game? Now is your chance to volunteer as a basketball commissioner for the Saint Robert Athletic Program. As a commissioner, you would work with the coaches, parents, and students to ensure a successful season for all. Please consider taking on one of these very important positions (there are four total-2 for girls and 2 for boys). We are so grateful to our wonderful past basketball commissioners, Dante Venturi, Nick Paras, Ann O’Donoghue, and Laura Davis, for the many years of dedication given to Saint Robert. We are blessed. If you would like to consider being a commissioner please contact Mrs. Wright at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the school office for more information. Thank you!
Children’s Liturgy of the Word–Little Church–Three Sundays each month, at 9:30 Mass, volunteer celebrants gather the children of the parish to hear and discuss scripture readings at age appropriate levels. Conversations focus on what the Word of God means to them and how they can apply it to their daily life. Would you be willing to be a volunteer? Please read the information in attachments to find out more. Thank you!
CYO–For over 70 years, CYO Camp (home of Caritas Creek and OEE) has created an environment where children ages 8-17 can explore the world around them and develop powerful friendships that will last a lifetime. Our 7-day, overnight camp sessions are filled with a variety of activities including swimming, hiking, archery, tie-dye, sports, canoeing and much more. Catholic Charities CYO Camp provides financial assistance to eligible campers thanks to the generous support from many donors. For more information visit our website at www.cyocamp.org, call us at 707-874-0240. Thank you.
Yearbook– If you would like to order a yearbook this year, please send in a check for $40.00 to the school office. The on-line purchasing option has closed as of April 15th. Please add yearbook to the memo line of your check. You don’t want to miss out on this year’s memories! Thank you.
